Religious group sued for £500,000 by woman who says it failed to protect her from sex attacker (this was before the Sunday Times article)
by defender of truth in"the barrister alleged jehovahs witness elders had known about stewarts activities with young girls since the early days of the claimants abuse and failed to prevent it continuing.lawyers for the trustees are defending the case, insisting proper steps were taken to protect its members and that stewart was not performing a pastoral role.their counsel, adam weitzman, said he disputed the elders were negligent and denied the trustees could be held legally responsible.he pointed out that, from 1991, stewart and the woman ceased to be members of the same congregation.
stewart was never an employee of the jehovahs witness congregation and the trustees owed the woman no legal duty of care, he argued.

"The barrister alleged Jehovah’s Witness elders “had known about Stewart’s activities with young girls since the early days of the claimant’s abuse and failed to prevent it continuing”.
Lawyers for the trustees are defending the case, insisting proper steps were taken to protect its members and that Stewart was not performing a “pastoral role”.
Their counsel, Adam Weitzman, said he “disputed the elders were negligent” and denied the trustees could be held legally responsible.
He pointed out that, from 1991, Stewart and the woman “ceased to be members of the same congregation”. Stewart was never an “employee” of the Jehovah’s Witness congregation and the trustees owed the woman no legal “duty of care,’’ he argued. "Read article here: -

Very interesting eyewitness account from the High court, from an article on Jwsurvey:
" On the day I attended, Watchtower produced a witness who was an expert in his field of working with children. He began by trying not to answer direct questions put to him by the Barrister. Eventually, the Judge intervened and told him he had to answer the questions directly.
He was asked if saying sorry and showing repentance was good enough when it comes to child abusers. He gave an honest answer and explained that pedophiles are like alcoholics and drug addicts. Once they offend it is very unlikely that they will ever stop.
The defence Watchtower was using was that Stewart was removed as a ministerial servant and this was announced from the platform. A few weeks later a talk was given from the platform concerning improper behaviour. Watchtower felt this was enough of a warning to the congregation as it should have been obvious this talk was being given about Stewart.
Watchtower’s own expert was questioned on this, and asked whether this was indeed sufficient action. Of course, he had to answer honestly and say, “no.”

Parents who left 'the truth', here's an example of the threats that your children will no longer be subjected to
by defender of truth in13 some youths brought up by christian parents may not see the stark contrast between our current spiritual paradise and satans dark world.
some have even been tempted to see what life in the world is like.
but would you run in front of a moving car just to find out how painful and possibly fatal that could be?

Let it begin....
by snare&racket inabout time..... "teachers, councillors and social workers in england and wales who fail to protect children could face up to five years in jail under new proposals.. the new measures, being unveiled by the prime minister, would see the crime of "wilful neglect" extended to cover children's social care and education.. there would also be unlimited fines for individuals and organisations shown to have let children down.".
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-31691061.
when they so cleverly predicted to us all that the world would turn against them, something that has not happened despite over a 100 years of taunting power and opposing religious figures, now it is likely to begin, they failed to mention that it would be due to rampant paedophilia in 'gods earthly organisation'.what a wholesome enviroment to grow up in and raise a child.. we have heard it said many times here that the jw's won't last as they are so entrenched in trends, so opposite to modern human progress, culture and society, they stand out as more extremist and inhumane by the year, mocked regularly in the media now.

Thanks snare, this is big news.
Does anyone agree with me, that the timing of this news release is pretty bad for the org?
In the last 2 days there have been 3 articles published on Jehovahs Witnesses child abuse cover-ups, and between the roughly 800,000 circulation of the Sunday Times, and however many read The Guardian and Examiner.com , potentially hundreds of thousands of people have read about the organisations failure to protect children in the last two days..
Then maybe they hear this in the news and start talking...
(For anyone who missed the articles, see here for links to all of them):

Another article - Jehovah's Witnesses silencing techniques used in child sex abuses cases
by defender of truth inhere's an interesting quote from it:.
in a youtube video: jehovah's witnesses threatening children with death - lloyd evans tells the david pakman show that, scientology only has about 50,000 members, whereas the jehovah's witnesses organization has about 8 million.
its like a comedy show when you look into some of the beliefs of what scientologists adhere to.
